In May I am proud to host a songwriting workshop with Brendan Croker.

Brendan has been a veteran of the UK and international folk scene for over 30 years having toured with the Notting Hillbillies (featuring Mark Knopfler and Steve Phillips) 5 O'Clock Shadows and released several solo albums.

Brendan's songwriting roots lie in country blues and folk music such as Sleepy John Estes, Jesse Fuller and Blind Willie Mctell. In this workshop Brendan will be working with YOU to develop your own songwriting skills in this unique and interactive class where the emphasis is on doing things, using your knowledge and actually writing in the session under Brendan's expert tutelage. This class is ideal for anyone from intermediate players onwards. No experience of songwriting is necessary, just the desire to make your own music, no matter what the genre and no matter what you play Make sure you bring your instrument!

In addition this class is a non-profit event with all the proceeds after costs going to Cloth Cat in Leeds - a fantastic organisation which provides free or low cost music training to people on low incomes who would not normally be able to partake in such activities.
